Welcome Message

Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Gozo.

Our club is young only 5 years old and we continue to be excited about the opportunities that we have to serve our local and larger community, while having fun.  The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self” and we live it.

We are keen to recruit new members and we are pleased to be one of 200 clubs world–wide

(there are 33,000 Rotary Clubs altogether) that has been selected to run the new associate membership system.  This allows the club, if requested by a potential member, to provide membership under associate rules for up to 1 year, which gives time to let you get to know us really well before applying for full membership.  The fun: we have a meal together once a month, arrange thought provoking and interesting talks by guest speakers, and attend film nights, play Bocci and more.  So, mostly we are very informal.

This year we continue our commitment to the wellbeing of the local community by providing funds to the Friends of the Sick and the Elderly in Gozo (FSEG).  We are also linked through a past member of the club to generating funds for ‘seed corn’ projects in Kenya and continue to provide a portion of charity funds raised to the Rotary’s own international project for the complete eradication of Polio from the world.  But really this only touches on what we are about.

As well as charity work we will continue our commitment to support our local community through partnership with the English Speaking Union of Gozo, the club is sponsoring elements of a debating competition for schools.  Also by involvement in environmental issues, concentrating for now on the important subject of water conservancy, we play our small part in eco-Gozo.
